Troop 336 Announcements

Scout Rank

Troop 336 was chartered in 1993 and is part of the Mustang District in the Longhorn Council.  We meet every Tuesday night from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM at Heritage Church of Christ which is located at 4201 Heritage Trace Parkway,  Keller, TX 76244. Presently, we have about 50 Scouts (youth) and 50 Scouters (adults) registered.  Parents are always encouraged to register and participate in the Troop's committee.  By doing so, you can  better understand the Troop's function and see where your support can be best utilized. Weekly troop meeting dues are $2.00.

Our program encourages the First Class in a Year program and allows all of the boys the chance to earn the Eagle rank. To date, our Troop has had more than boys earn the rank of Eagle. Our Troop has camped for a cumulative total of more than 6500 cumulative nights, including several treks at Philmont Scout Ranch.

Our focus is to develop our Scouts into good leaders.  We strive to achieve this by having weekly Troop meetings and at  least one Troop campout/activity per month.  These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Longhorn Council Twin Arrow Junior Leader Training

  • 50 Mile Hike

  • Merit Badge College

  • A Philmont Trek/High Adventure

  • Summer / Winter Camps (A Week At Camp)

  • Score-O Orienteering Competition

  • Canoe Race/Canoe Trek

  • Camporee

  • Several Weekend Outings (Car Camping or Backpacking)

  • Webelos Scout Night

The Troop is active in "Service to Others."  These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cowtown Marathon - We work a water stop for marathon runners.

  • Cooking dinner once a month for HCOC members.

  • Staffing numerous scouting activities and volunteer hours at Longhorn Council Camps.

We also have several fundraisers for your son to have an opportunity to raise money for his own Scout account.  The money in this account can be used to pay for camping, re-charter, or almost anything related to Scouting.  These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Popcorn Sales/Nuts for Scouting

  • Texas Motor Speedway Concessions/Ushers

  • Delivering Phone Books/Pizza Fliers

  • Posting Flags on Flag Holidays.

  • Aluminum Can Recycling
