Hello Everyone, It's that time of year again! Troop 336 works as ushers for fundraising at the Texas Motor Speedway. If you are a race fan, this job is for you! If you are not a race fan this is a good way to see what all the hoopla is about. We work in the Victory Lane Suites in climate controlled conditions, in the luxury suites above the race track. The work is easy and includes directing people to their seats, answering a few easy questions, and assist otherwise as requested. There is a dress code of khaki pants and white shirt with no words or letters on it. Button down the front is preferable and comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet for the majority of the time, they give short breaks throughout the day. For this work you get free water and get a meal. The best part is you get to see the race! Paid $8/hour per person, part of the money earned will go to the scout accounts and the other part will help fund the Troop. .....You must be 18 to work in this area. Thursday, April, 12th, 4:30pm- 8:00pm (arrive 2PM); O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge Nationwide Series practice, Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup Series practice Friday, April 13th, arrive at 11:30am (end time depends on the race finish) Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup Series qualifications and O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 Nationwide Series race Saturday, April 14th; arrive 12:30pm. race starts at 6:60pm (end time depends on the race finish) Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup Series race Peter Phillips Texas Motor Speedway Volunteer Coordinator |
Aluminum Can Recycling Troop Fundraiser Program
Save your aluminum cans, crush them flat and bring them with you to the Troop meeting each week. There will be a large trash bag outside the back door for you to deposit them in. We will take them to the recycling center and the cash will be used to fund the general expenses of the troop. If you will ask at least two neighbors to also save them for you, that would be almost 100 families. With full participation, I estimate that we can earn about $15 a week or $900 per year with very little effort. I will need two people to serve a back ups for the weekly can collection if I am unable to attend. Start saving your cans today, we will start collecting them the first meeting after Labor Day!

Flag Fundraiser
The flag fund raiser is for holidays. President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day. The Heritage Trace locations have 2 additional days, September 11th and December 7th.
Workers place flags at sunrise and retrieve them at sunset at locations that the troop has in the Park Glen and Heritage Trace areas. Workers will be assigned on a first come/first served basis and will receive $25 per location credited to their scout account.
The flag locations can be viewed at the following link: http://t336.com/flaglocations.htm For more information, click here. |

Thanks to all of you that are volunteering for the Cowtown Marathon Fluid Station this year. It is a terrific service to the Cowtown Marathon, which is a non-profit organization promoting community health and wellness to North Texans. The participants are not only from the metroplex, but throughout the United States and the world. They expect about 25000 total runners this year and 2000 runners to be in the marathon/ultra marathon this year! The marathon race is this Sunday February 26th and our station will be # 15 which is located at 3839 S. Hills Circle at the 17.5 mile of the marathon race. A map of the race can be found at the link below.
